The 4th Annual McAllen
Monarch Fest celebrates the
start of the Monarch's Migration
back north through the US-Mexico
Border. This event was created to
bring awareness to the decrease in Monarch butterfly populations; at one point billions of them migrated, today millions will migrate. All proceeds will support butterfly gardens and Environmental Education. Along with These
Beautiful Butterflies, we are also celebrating
other Pollinators, such as: Bats and Bees!

Mayor's Monarch Pledge
The National Wildlife
Federation (NWF) launched a
multifaceted effort to help restore
milkweed along central corridors
stretching from Texas to Wisconsin.
At the local level, more than 150
mayors from across the US have signed
the federation's pledge to help the butterfly.
Mayor Jim Darling signed the Mayor's Monarch Pledge working to educate families/businesses and expand monarch habitat to help improve the plight of the monarch. The event is filled with wonder
of folks of all ages learning about the amazing migration through speakers, exhibitors, crafts
and garden tours! Enjoy the BUG Parade, music, dancing, food and much more!
